The Fair

I asked my hubby to take me to the fair tonight. I am so excited. Its a small carnival taking place at a local church. I havent been to one in a very long time. We used to go the big county fair every year when the kids were younger. I really want to go to that one again this year. Its funny because I dont go on many of the rides at the fair. I'm not sure why I like it so much. Maybe its because it reminds me of my younger days. In fact I can name the rides I do go on in one hand---let's see.....the merry go round (dont laugh, you're never too old to go on that one), bumper cars, big slide, and the mirror/fun house. Yep! That's about it for me. I'm a scaredy cat for the fast rides. What I do love is walking around, eating the cotton candy, yummy elephant ears, and the lemonade! (Did I mention I'm starting weight watchers at my school? Thankfully, I dont start until next week!)

Good luck Priscy

In just a few hours my daughter will be taking the ACT test. I'm up early and she is on my mind. She was so nervous last night about this test. I kept reminding her that she needed to get to bed on time to have plenty of sleep. But for as long as I can remember, the night before a big test or just a big day in general, Priscy will come into our room half a dozen times before she actually goes to bed. She loves to jump in bed with us to "hang out." I love that about her. Last night was no different. So we "hung out" as late as she needed to before going to bed. Of course I kept looking at the clock, praying that she would get to bed at a decent time. Did I mention that her dad even brought her a milkshake to help calm her nerves? Ahhhh, indeed she is our princess girl. I pray that God will give her peace for thinking clearly, a steady hand to write the correct answers and most of all the confidence to know that she can do it. Our small group has been praying for her and the upcoming tests she has to complete during her senior year in high school. She isn't a very good test taker but I know that God will show up strong for her this morning.

Priscy, I love you. You will do great! Remember God is with you always. Love, Mom
